Constructive Figure Drawing

Class Description

Constructive Figure Drawing classes will focus on analyzing the underlying structure of the human form in terms of mass, planes and line. We will begin with a thorough exploration of the three primary forms of the figure (rib cage, pelvis and head) and how the interaction of those components (bending, turning, leaning and twisting) expresses movement. The student will learn to observe the human figure and reduce the complex anatomical forms, including proportions and foreshortening concepts into simple geometric masses.
